My dad bought a new laptop in a store, but since they don't supply recovery discs/OS backups anymore, I'd like to know how to create one.

I'm looking for some serious answers.

Thanks in advance. =]

if its vista I dont know,

if it was xp you could use

START/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS/BACKUP

if it is vista you could maybe use the help and support, or whatever help is in vista to search for backup..

or recovery disk ect

Vista also has something like that, but then the estimated space that it would burn to a disc is over 7gigs, which is bullshit.

jesus 7 gigs

er does that acronis or something like that maybe useful, bit expensive but you might be able to find it somewhere cheaper

http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/choose-trueimage/

norton ghost used to be a favourite with people but I just steer clear of norton stuff because of their crap security suite,

not used acronis but might look into it,
the xp backup does me, then again its years since I had to reformat

well as long as you can run that on vista,

remember though 7 gigs tho its a lot is still only the cost of a couple of blank DVD's

anyway sounds like your on your way to solving your problem Wink

Look under Start > All Programs

There will be a selection there to make a recover disc set.
* Do not run this unless you have some DVR+R Disc's aleast 3 for most machines.
Also*** This application once ran will not run anylonger. You have to complete it all the way, Do NOT Cancel it for some machines.
