I wrote a College Essay, and the prompt is:
What is your approach to life? Reveal your life philosophy.


I'm not actually sending this to any colleges, It is a requirement for me to compose an essay in order to graduate from High School.


Tell me what you think. It only took me 10minutes to write, and I think it could be better. Give me some constructive criticism.

When I was a child, I’d follow any orders that were given to me without a problem. I looked up to almost everyone, and I expected a lot out them also. All of this changed when I reached the eleventh grade, and got a new perspective on life from a man named Charles Darwin. He devised a theory of Natural Selection. In this theory, he defined that “The strongest man will always survive.” I realized how much this statement compared to my life and everyone’s life in general.

I realized that in order to survive in this world, you must both make and break friends and enemies. Many people say that there are finer things in life than money, but you and I know that is truly false. The point of living is to make money and have fun. People try to sugarcoat the harsh reality of life, but the only thing that accomplishes is more pain in the long run.

People try to escape the cruelty of this world through a man we all know; Jesus H. Christ. Anyone with a brain would know that the powerful religious figure is simply a hoax to make life seem like a blessing, when it is really a curse (for them). Foolish people perceive Jesus as a strong and all-knowing spiritual savior. Intelligent people can prove that life was created through Science, and religion was also devised through Science.

Life is a game; a long, painful game with no rules. The people who are best at the game will always win, but in the end there will only be one winner. This relates to situations in real life. For example, Presidential elections. All of the candidates are only capable of doing so much, and no matter who is put into control, the country will still virtually take the same path. It’s all about who lies and stretches the truth and persuades the general public to elect them into office.

People often avoid the finer things in life in fear of causing themselves harm. My question to those individuals is, “What is the point of living if you are afraid of dying?” They usually remain silent.

In conclusion, the main goal of life has been twisted to an extent that no one knows what they are living for anymore. Life can be a blessing or a curse, it’s your choice. You can sit back and wait for things to happen, or you can pursue them and be successful. You can take risks and go far, or you can play it safe and live your life wondering what could have been. Also, life is about doing everything you can to make it to the top- even if it means stepping on other people to make it up there.
