Is it necessary to study Com programming before learning directx programming ?

Not really. If you plan to do anything major and lower level you may want to look into it some, but coding a game wise, no you won't need to touch Com at all.

For hacking purposes, not at all as well. (Unless you want to specifically hook Com stuff.)
