I suggest disabling the AV, make it a .rar file, upload to virusscan, enable AV and check results. Or open the file using notepad.

Ya there trying to trick you by making you think it's a system 32 file. If you look close enough it says "N.BAT". The safest way to know is to just Google it. =)

i don't think your antivirus would be as stupid as to say that a critical system file is a virus. if you really needed it you wouldn't be able to delete it.

but if you're so worried make a restore point and if it actually ends up screwing up with your computer then just system restore.

but remember google's your best friend.

a batch file will open the command prompt and do its stuff

if you wanted to open it in notepad you should have changed the extension from .bat to .txt

so you had N.TXT

then if you double clicked on it even it would open in notepad and you could see the text commands that were in it

for instance what executables it was trying to start up,

also of course as a txt file it would be rendered harmless

What's so wrong about using google.
You could just google the file name, and see whats his function.
If its not necessary to keep on ur computer, you can delete it.

Notepad - Open - All files - C:\Windows\System32\n.bat and see what it's gonna delete.

Then delete it
