can i use it to get the serial key or purchase only code in a program? like yahoo games etc.?

ohh i c tnx so cant hack like that, can i alter even a text? not just numbers? like can hack the name of the player in that program not only his ammo or health? Question

Yes you can use it to hack in regular programs.
Partial cracking can be done using it.

You can do just about anything possible in terms of altering the program. It is a lot harder to use for certain things though. For example, when cracking, you almost always use reference searching (search all referenced strings, find what references this code/data), which Cheat Engine does not have (log on access, what CE is doing when you do "find out what accesses this", is not the same).

You are best to use OllyDbg and/or IDA Pro for most cracking, although CE can be an immensely useful tool if you know when to apply it.

IDA Pro is great for analysis, but you cannot do patching (except byte-by-byte runtime patching), and the runtime tracing is lacking.

OllyDbg is great for patching.
