Dial up has pillaged my village and raped my woman!
How long ago did YOU have dial up and how did you like it? I have not had it since 4 or 3 years ago. I had AOL. I LOATHED the noise it made when logging in and you couldn't stop it no matter how hard you tried. Then the slowness of it. I now have comcast. I love it so much.
Also, for a $1000 dollars would you go back to dial up? for 5 months.

I've never had Dial-Up. I use RoadRunner.
And go back for a grand? Sure, I'll use my works internet then.

When I first moved into my new house we didn't get any internet service. I had gotten dial-up for free using my friends account via Bell Atlantic before they changed their name. Their system was very... insecure and inefficient so anyone could use your account info and get free internet. My friend had at least 10 people using his account at all times lol.
We had used that for about a year before getting Comcast.
I would never go back. Not for $1000 bucks either. $1000 isn't a lot of money and wont get me anything worth while, and nothing I could buy with it would keep me occupied for 5 months to handle shit speeds on the net.

You realize how much of a nerd you just sounded like?
I would take the money and just go out and hang out with friends for 5 mounts... Or flatland, there are other things to do besides computers..

I had AOL.

Then I got Comcast Cable broadband, and now all i get is a couple disconnections every few months...
I might switch to Embarq's DSL, my dad has that and he never gets disconnected.

I got dial up way back in the day, long before most people had ever even seen the internet, and god was it slow. 56k wasn't even around yet, no it was much slower than that
To think about it now, dialing out, blocking the phone line, and taking 30min-1hr to download a 3 meg file, compared to just opening my browser and taking about 1-2 seconds to download the same file, we've come a long way.
I don't need the $1,000 , I have everything I need now so I'd pretty much be giving up my fast internets for no reason, no way in hell I'd go back to that dial up shit.
