Ok well since its almost christmas and i am getting a new set of ram as one of my gifts and i though might as well get a set of DDR3 ram... So right now i am looking at this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145189
i have a $500 dollar budget for the ram so i was just wondering what you guys though and if you had and recommendations

and also the other thing that i am getting is a new monitor (since mine is old as ass) right now i am looking at this 22 inch dell ultrasharp
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-6107
once again just wondering what you guys thoughts or if u have any recommendations thanks.

lol well right now the total is around like $800 im probably gonna end up paying for like half of the ram though the only reason i want the ram is because (dumb ass move>>>) i didnt know that with vista 32 bit you couldnt have more than 2.75gb so i bought a 4gb set with of OCZ ddr2 ram when i built my comp a couple months ago

lol it makes up for the fact that i had to buy the power supply with the blue neon lite in it which took up too much room so i had to take a fan out of it but it dosent really matter because theres 2 other fans in it and like 85% of the top is ventilated and the full front panel is ventilated

I find it entertaining that 2gb of DDR3 is over $400 more than it's DDR2 counterpart.

That, and that DDR3 brings no tangible benefits over DDR2 with current processors, just poorer latency. $400 more, poorer performance, where do I sign up?

Don't blow money on DDR3, get some quality DDR2 if your board supports it, and if not, get it anyway and grab a board to go with it. I'm so sick of people trying to get the latest and greatest just to say they have it, even if it costs 4x as much and actually performs poorer.
