				| I am buying a new computer for the Holidays as a gift to my whole family (whole family meaning just me). I am buying a custom built computer, which comes with Vista Home Premium.
How do I turn off unwanted Vista Processes and which processes do I turn off?

I don't know, just download XP, burn onto disk and format your PC.

				| You mean services ? not processes -.-"
services are needed compenents to make an OS run the way it needs running in the background (some are not needed and take a specific amount of memory)

just go to start, msconfig (just like XP)

				| thats up to you. there should be descriptions for each one.
tweaked is probably going to be fine in most cases.

				| how can you not run 1.6 smooth? it's minimum requirements are around the level of a sewing machine.
if you're really having that much trouble with it, post specs.
