i have a 56k modem and i have people pc online dial up but my computer connects at only 26.5k how do i increas my speed?

first of all, call your ISP and ask what is the modern fastest internet speed they have, ask price, get intrest then decide, if you're broke then try using softwares (eg. TuneUp Utilities 2007)

ok ill call tem and see i didnt know there was anyting faster then a 56k internal modem... well as far as modems go. and can you post a link to the best software youve found to adjust it..... also i have heard that there are certin numbers or letters or something that make a code you can find and put into your modem wich makes it run diffrently ?

Why would you ever want HIGHER ping?

The ping difference is likely to be negligible either way between that and onboard.

Isn't people pc like 10.99 a month? You should upgrade to AT&T DSL, The Cheapest one is 14.99 a month but you have to buy a 49 dollar modem. The 19.99/month gives you a free modem and speeds up to 1.5mbps which is like a 187.5kb/s download speed.

im not sure if i have at&t i cant get verizon high speed i cnat get road runner im pritty much screwed.. were gonig to try people pc online dsl if we can get it.
