| i'm going to buy ram sticks and other stuff to make my computer have more memory and be faster, so how much would 512mb ram added and 4gb added cost?

It's like 40$'s every 512 MB of ram.
If you really want to make your computer half decent get a 4200+ processor and 2 gigs of ram. If you have enough money get a decent graphics card.

Don't buy 512mb. Go for at least 1 gig. It will last you a while.

Uh... what? I upgraded my ram to 4 gigs for $132, all Corsair (4 NEW memory modules).
