C++ is the better language, but, people still fail to see what VB was actually meant for and bash it for no reason. Wink

This is turning to be a 1 sided pole. No one voted for Visual Basic.

What is Visual Basic meant for?

I choose neither, C/ASM is the only way to go. Razz (Well ok, C++ isn't THAT bad, but I would rather use C then C++)

quit talkign newfags.

I have tried and succedded (little in c++ but enough to get an understanding)

My conclusions are:
C++:

C++ is a bitch to learn after VB
........Reason: Fuck the syntax is 100% different and your functions require a lot more

C++ has better advanced features
........Reason: better use of apis and such and also more avalibility of example codes for more advanced things

C++ is hella hard to make a basic gui
........However, mfc though a bitch does remedy this a bit

VB 6:

VB Soo easy and fun to learn

VB fast learning for your first language

VB introduces you to becoming a programer
........Though it is very hard to make a change from this to another

VB is VERY limited

VB has some convoluted ass ways of making things happen

Controlled loops are hard to make

VB wastes some memory.

For the full overview based on user opinions (it's a wiki):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_Basic

For the quick run-down of the wiki's definition:

Visual Basic was created as an event-driven language to allow the ease of programming for database applications in a business field. Allowing the ease of creation for GUIs to link between ActiveX controls and establish connections to databases using DAO, RDO, ADO, etc.

It is a Rapid Application Development language, (RAD), is is meant for fast production and ease of use. It was NOT meant for such things that C/C++ and such are used for, but, it can do what other languages can do with a bit of work.

If you got used to Delphi or VB's syntax, it will be very hard to learn C++.
