Okay, So My Friend Says That All I Have To Do Is Download An Application Which Has A Virus In It And I'll Get My PC Infected,

Even Before I open The Application.
Then The Application Will Auto-Delete Itself And Leave The Virus Behind.

Is This Possible?

Basically makes a copy to other directories and writes to registry deletes the old executable while executing the new one/ones.
Or it can hold precoded executables and extract them to directories, but this method is probably not how most do it and makes for a larger file size and leads people to believe it is legit.
Not to mention you can increase file size as well without using this method.

Example of copy file in VB:
