i can type properly and if i can hack multi player games because you find them hard thats why you don't like hacking it doesn't that make you the lesser gifted?

The reason I don't like hackers is because I've worked on a MMORPG (I'm not going to say wich one, you're just gonna say it's crappy). It really sucks trying to keep the normal players happy by disabling hacks and banning hackers.

On the question of legality: It can not be successfully prosecuted if you do not gain access to a (computer) system, network or other wise that you do not normally have access to(in most US states, except probably Texas and Maine) but it's not something the FBI will get involved with unless it has something to do with Terrorism, or the RICO act. However, sending specially created packets to cheat a server sided game is most definitely a banable offence and or a breach of EULA, and will likely result in you and anyone you associate with being banned from the game your playing. Short from that, your in the clear.

On the question of how: That’s a lot more complicated. You’re going to need a packet sniffer a packet generator and a lot of time. you will need to receive, and analyze packets and begin to understand them as how they control the world around you. As you analyze the packets you should be looking for events that you may be able to exploit. However any recent (with in the last 18 months or so) made MMO will have all packets sent to the server verified against the game rules before it processes them making your attempt to hack a server side game even closer to futile.

Conclusion: Unless you can gain or have physical access to the server (see legality) you are probably wasting your time on a well built commercial product. If you have access to the server, well then run CE on it =)

well, no. You can't hack them, you can only fool them (and not always) with a packet editor

and "if" i did know how to do that and i did do it would i be breaching the law if it was done from a remote location?
