Safe mix of both is not safe. People will ultimately argue that God did not make the universe. People will ultimately argue that Social Darwinism is a big hunk of shit.

ultimately it comes down to logic, which despite popular belief doesnt automatically = science. we, as humans, with or current knowledge base are simply unable to determine what really happened. and a poll that says "Religion VS Science" is completely ridiculous, (and stupid really..cause that's not what the debate is about) not to mention what you could truly consider a "conflict" between the two are minimal. if you believe in a higher power, or God - wouldn't you think it's safe to say that science is the way God created things?

This isnt even the correct question to be asking, youll understand what i mean once youve thought about it enough (assuming you have enough brain power to think past it)

But don't parents teach their kids "not to lie?" Yet, they teach them stuff out of their holy text, recite it as if it was true. Take the Aztec empire for example. They believed a God would come from the east, dressed in armor, and is white. What they didn't know, is that those white men ruined their whole civilization, thinking that it was the "wrath of gods."

first of all, just because something cannot be proven true does not mean it should be declared as a lie. much of science (including evolution) is just theory, so without absolute proof, following your logic - evolution is a lie as well.

anyways.. the messages and teachings that you take in from texts such as the bible aren't meant to be taken in the literal sense like your example, i'd like to think of them as a way to structure your life and essentially a way to live. the bible is

to give a proper example, much of the bible contains stories which may or may not be truthful (say Jesus healing someone with magic powers) but ultimately that is not the goal of the book or given story, because you either believe Jesus to be the son of god or or you don't. and it certainly doesn't require a thousand pages to describe that Razz. my point of this last bit is really that regardless of what you think and believe, the bible is still relevant thousands of years later, and still can be used just as effectively as a guide to living a positive life for millions of people today.
