Can somebody help me. I know this is a stupid question but how do i take a screenshot.

press the botton that says prt scrn (that means print screen) paste the screen somewhere (I use MS paint), save it and thre you go. You took a screen shot. +rep me if you would like

on your keyboard at the top right there should be a button sayin print screen/sysRq. press that then copy image into ms paint.

thanks, that worked. Now how do i take only the part I want. I tried but i have the entire screen.

As Symbol said, if you want to take a pic of a certain window, make sure it has focus and then hit Alt+Print Screen.

Or, you can get a tool such as SnagIt:

SnagIt allows you to take a pic according to a class of a window, which means you can take a picture of only part of a window and such, or the whole window. With it you can also modify the picture and such too.
