Cheat Engine

Yea I tried many different tutorials to find pointers but none of them work for games. The tutorials for step 8 work fine but those tutorials dont work on games. For example I followed this one... http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=74826
I got my first pointer but when I hit "find out what reads from this address", first more than 1 address comes up and 2nd even when I get the new value for example "05fbafd8" when I search for it in hex, nothing comes up. Can someone please help me, anyone know a way that will work with all games?

find the dynamic address, find out what reads from it, if it's a multi level pointer use find out what reads from it then when it asks you what to do, click find out what writes to this pointer.

I dont get what you mean sorry, I know its a multi level pointer, I can get the first pointer but the 2nd one doesnt work because when I right click on the first pointer I found and click on "find out what reads from this address" it gives me an adress, I go to more info and than I get the adress that ce suggests is the correct one but when I make a search with that adress in "hex", no results come up. why does that happen?, why doesnt it give another adress so I can get to the final pointer?
