| I freaking love ASUS. I would go gay for ASUS if it were a person. But I wouldn't have to, because in my mind ASUS is a woman. Quality and quantity in perfect harmony.

Dell has had its sways but they have a few good and a few bad laptops. Their customer support is pretty good though.
To begin with I really can't give less fucks whether or not you agree with me, as I speak with credibility and you don't. The only reason I keep this discussion open is to hopefully convince other speculants of laptops not to go with one of the worst brands that has ever set foot on this earth just because some unknowledgeable kid on the internet said it isn't.
Edit:
Oh and I'm not just talking about durance of hardware, I'm also including customer support, availability etc etc.

MSI and ASUS are the only 2 brands with competing hardware that aren't stupidly overpriced. Not only does MSI have good hardware and excellent cooling systems, they also don't spam bloatware and shit like Toshiba and the likes. Never contacted customer service (and I don't think anyone should ever have the need to), so I can't put my opinion out on that based on experience.
Like seriously, go look it up yourself, you won't find any other brand quality hardware like ASUS and MSI (that isn't incredibly overpriced).

| Because everyone knows that those brands suck, and the ones he listed are actually good, whether hes talking out of his ass or not, Id much rather believe someone who says they are in IT then someone who just says they 'looked around'.

You're the one doing the exact thing you're accusing me of doing.

Let's put it in a perspective.
My guess is you searched and compared price/performance ratio for let's say 10 laptops.
I currently drift about 15 small and two large companies internal IT department (one of the large ones is an ISP) as well as numerous private persons that call in from time to time. All issues / questions / upgrades users have/want regarding anything at all that you can put IT in front of they consult me.
To start off with, price is not everything. Stability as an example SHOULD be far more important (both commercially and privately)
Secondly, bloatware isn't useless for the stereotypical 50 year old user who just wants a computer that works. I'm certain they find loads of useful stuff in there somewhere . The knowledgeable user will just perform a wipe anyway to get rid of literally _all_ unwanted software).
Thirdly, and most importantly; customer support is A and O. No company would survive more than a year without decent service towards its customers.
Asus is a good quality brand (they do are overpriced though, but for the stability and support they provide they are my favourite).
From my previous work at a retail computer store handling reparations and service I'll go as far as to say that MSi and Acer together stood for more than the majority of all reparations I did during the year and a half I was there.
Like I said. I have credibility in the question. You don't.
