Just wait for the end of the year when games that actually support DirectX 12 launch.
It will be jaw dropping.
Performance benchmarks show up to x10 speed increase in most calculations.
(this could mean double or triple performance on games as a whole, or way more detailed models and environments)

I would not say that ~5 FPS increase is worth upgrading your OS. Let alone being an upgrade and not a reformat. His test results with all the extras pulled out:
| Code: | Batman: Arkham City : 4-5 FPS Increase
BioShock Infinite : 0 FPS Increase (~40 FPS decrease on low-end settings..)
Crysis 1 : 2 FPS Increase
Crysis 2 : 1 FPS Increase
DiRT 3 : 6-8 FPS Increase
DiRT Rally : 0 FPS Increase
FFXIV Heavensword : 0 FPS Increase
GRID 2 : 0 FPS Increase
HAWX 2 : 7-8 FPS Increase
Hitman: Absolution : 0 FPS Increase
Just Cause 2 : 1 FPS Increase
Metro 2033 : 1 FPS Increase
Sleeping Dogs: DE : 1 FPS Loss
STALKER: CoP : 1 FPS Increase/Loss (Depending on settings.)
Streetfighter IV : 0 FPS Increase
Tomb Raider : 0 FPS Increase
Warhammer 40k: DoW 2 : 5 FPS Increase
World in Conflict : 4 FPS Increase |
This is not amazing or a game-changer to upgrade for. Not to mention results will vary per-system. Different hardware has different drivers that support Windows 8.1/10 better then others. So you may see even worse gains/losses then this, or you may see better.
I personally see no reason to upgrade to 10, especially this early on. The OS is 'new' and is going to have issues. Be it drivers, update mistakes, etc., problems will happen. (And they have multiple times already.) Along with that, people are still discovering uneasy things in 10 that Microsoft forces opt-in rather then opt-out by default, and other little things that casuals will never know to look for that they take advantage of. (For example, the fact that Windows Updates now uses a torrent based system to utilize your internet to give others updates.)
All of this is fine and dandy for a more advanced user to face and adjust settings for (after digging to find them since Microsoft buried some of them away to try and hide it.) but for a casual person that goes and buys a system from Best Buy, they are going to be taken advantage of, spied on, and such without realizing it.
I'm not interested in Windows 10 personally because of the direction they have taken the OS since Windows 8. I'm currently using Windows 7 Ultimate for my main OS, and Windows 8.1 Pro on my work system. That said, I really don't care for Windows 8.1 at all, but it was free.
For me, I'm waiting a while before ever touching Windows 10 on my own systems. Not interested in the NSA edition of Windows currently. | free fps for upgrading to a free os. I don't see the problem altough I am waiting a week for ms to fix the major bugs

Waiting is the smart thing to do if you want an easy experience.
Even though I have had no problems other than having to manually configure the UI because the settings were not 4K ready, I have had no problems at all.
But some of my friends do tell me that the nVidia driver fails on some cards and AMD driver.. well (>AMD driver)

Can confirm that with amd drivers, either my gpu doesn't work or the Win. 10 ready ones causes me to BSOD after ~20 seconds of startup. This is on a laptop, though; my main computer with Nvidia is flawless and smooth, no complaints here.

I haven't had a single problem so far. I did an upgrade, rather than reformat then install. So I've got all my shit still and the drivers are working fine, games are running fine, everything's perfect

That isn't the uTorrent 2.2.1 logo. I thought 2.2.1 was the current best?
