There are monks that know some 3 million kanji, but honestly I think once you get 3000 down the rest are just combinations.

^ exactly. And 3 million, is there really that many different ones? I was sure that there was at least less than 100k different kanji.

Probably, but it's unlikely humans will ever get to that point unless some form of disorder grows more common.

Yeah... but Computers are like humans. They always reserve some 'ram', which acts like working memory in humans. I would also want more ram to make my memory more effective.

So @ george high, at most, the "ram" humans have would be the short memory. Someone already mentioned it's limitations. Your opinion is subjective, so allow me to give mine. A more capacitive short term memory is not needed, and actually might not be better. Our mind works fine just the way it is.

To the poster above you, I must again point out that everyone has actually already reached the "limit" of their long term memory. Unless you can remember every single moment in your life, those moments which are most dreary have been replaced with the moments that you more consistently remember.
