Yes, two examples:
The game called Unreal-There is usually no background music. Plenty of tension already. At one part you're in a hallway and all of the lights go off slowly row by row.
And of course, anybody saying anything to you while you're absorbed in the game usually gives you a shock, too. |

Same here that was back when i was 13 and i was a fucking pussy. I got Bioshock when it first came out and the story stared me. But now i could play that game easily.
How is Left4Dead scary? It is so fake. |

I got L4D and I don't find it scary at all, not even once I jump! But anyway, all of these games scared me and quit playing it after playing it for the first 15 minutes (all of these happen between the age of 4- : Half Life, Max Pain (I was scared what was behind the door that lead to his bedroom). Well... that's all I could remember, that was a long time ago. All the games that I was ever afraid of happen around that time. |

The only game i ever i got scared by would be Silent Hill 2 on the ps2 when i was like 13 i could of never got passed the first level where it's all foggy and scary and shit yeah those were the days.
