Anyone who knows what they are doing in programming knows that that is bullshit.

				Does anyone know why I already have a folder named java in my Windows folder?

And in that Java folder are only two folders. Both empty. Named:

 	  | Code: | 	 		  | C:\WINDOWS\java\classes |

and

 	  | Code: | 	 		  | C:\WINDOWS\java\trustlib |

But they are both empty.

Anyone know why? I guess I will just download java as normal anyway.

				Yes, you still have to download the SDK. Windows has some built in Java support, but you need the SDK to develop.

Ok, cool. Thx very much.

Ok. By Java SDK do you mean JDK? Because on the link you gave me there are only programs called JDK...

Also your JCreator link doesn't work. It just takes me to an html page with this on it:

<head>

<title>

</head>

				you know I used to think it was until friday when I bought a computer related magazine that had an interview (actual interview, photos included, reputable magazine) and he appeared to mirror everything said within that interview up there. After I read the magazine I had to go find it again. Meh.. I'll scan the other sometime soon...

Granted, the one in the magazine is far far more subtle, so yeah I guess it could be a fake...

And no, its not a useless language, in the magazine he says something along the lines of: "not everybody should be able to write C++." "to use C++ you really need to understand design and programming technique"

				I personally think that since you know HTML and qbasic the best is some basic C so you get what C++ will be like than move to C++ after a couple weeks into C

This way you can go into C++ and wont be over your head

Unless you are a fast learner and do it quickly

To benlue: Isn't C++ a bit hard for a programmer who can only do dos and html and qbasic. Thanks anywayz.

To the_undead: Well, I don't really mind what I program. I'm more in it for the learning. I wouldn't mind programming games, to little things like calculators, to things like bots or auto makers of things, to full programs. I really don't mind.

To ravicus: Thanks. Those links are all very useful. So I must download Java SDK if I want to program in java? Also would you recommend using JCreator, like you recommended before, or do you think I should go with DeltaFlyer's advice to go with "Ready to program"?

To DeltaFlyer: Thanks. I want to start with something "noob friendly", so I think I have decided to learn Java next. Also as it is derived from C++ it will be very useful for me learning C++ after java. So that's good. As I said above, I don't really mind if people can see my source code at the moment. Unless I make something actually good and then release it. I'm more learning Java for the sake of learning. I will probably start serious programming when I start C++. I might use "JCreater" or "Ready to Program" depending on what ravicus says. Right now I'm inclined to use "ready to program". I don't really mind about calling windows API's. Is that like setting the active window because as I say, I'm really noob at programming?

Thanks again everyone. You've been a great help and in the end I think I've decided to first learn Java, and then C++.

Nope maybe C++ bit hard but its the basic programming, soo if you wanna be programmer you need to know her good.
