synchronize() is never called, the only thing in v.handl() that touches CE itself is a call to sleep() in the instance there was a delay code which in this case there was not, everything else from v.handl() is just dealing with the hooked app (in this case none). There is nothing else to my thread code besides what you can see in my above code so please no more assuming other functions have been called when they clearly haven't

Edit: Having re-read your advice I tried adding the following before t.destroy() and it worked like a charm.
Code:

t.terminate()
t.waitfor()
