oh. But in all seriousness, I have a k120 and a m100 or something like that, and since I'm building a new comp I'd thought I might as well throw in a new keyboard+mouse too

whats the best I could get for a total of around 100$ or less?

ZOWIE EC1 Evo
ZOWIE AM
Steelseries Xai
Steelseries Sensei

The EC1 Evo isn't ambidextrous and is basically the same shape as an IME 3.0 by Microsoft, but with updated shit and a better feel. If you're used to a mouse that has grooves for your thumb and fingers then go for this one.

The rest are all ambidextrous mice but are very different, kinda. The AM is quite small so if you have large hands or use a palm grip on a mouse it's probably not perfect for you, but you could get used to it because it's amazing otherwise. The xai is my favourite mouse of all time and I used it for a good 2 years solidly with low sensitivity, moving it about and wrapping it up for LAN etc before a wire inside it broke. I could probably fix it but I'm just going for the easy way and trying new mice now. Would recommend the Xai very much.

The Sensei is the same shape as the Xai, but with an overkill sensor that actually has issues apparently, a metal feeling coating on top which imo is retarded because you don't want your hands to be cold when using a mouse, and some cool lights on it.

palm grip: Steelseries Xai
palm grip with grooves for hand: ZOWIE EC1 Evo
claw grip: ZOWIE AM
dumbass: Steelseries Sensei

That time when you were jizzing your pants over the sensei

Mouse is by far the more important of the two and again it'd really depend on what you prefer. I think the Zowie AM would suit you pretty well. I'd hold out for buying a keyboard until you can shell out a bit more for a Steelseries 6GV2 though, cause mechanical is the only upgrade you'll want to make and they're pretty cheap in comparison to most.

On paper it made absolute sense, and when I tried it a few times it was fine, but I wouldn't recommend it because realistically it isn't quite as comfortable and is more of a gimmick than a lot of better and cheaper mice.

Xai is apparently not sold anywhere and is discontinued, etc...
Looks like I'll be going with the Zowie.

Xai is definitely not discontinued! If you don't wanna go for either of those I actually really really recommend the mouse I just ordered!

This mouse is used by sooo many pro quake players and is known as one of best mice (if not the best mouse) ever.

You gonna tell me how high dpi = better now like the uneducated fuck you are?
EDIT:
To elaborate so as to not start a silly argument, DPI is mostly a gimmick. The only time it actually matters at all is when playing with multiple monitor setups with extremely high resolutions and even then the DPI you need will only usually be around 1800 but won't even make that much of a difference.

There is a very big resolution and you can see how little the recommended DPI still is.

EDIT2:
The higher sensitivity you use ingame the more the recommended will be, but the only reason you want it in the first place is because you don't want it to skip pixels and that will only ever happen when moving your mouse a rather far distance very quickly, which with a high sensitivity will not happen anyway and with a low sensitivity you don't need the higher DPI and therefore the problem isn't there in the first place.

well I can't find the Xai ANYWHERE unless it's refurbished (or some sort of promotional version)... and on a few sites it says "discontinued".
So idk what to say bro.

Also dpi adjustment buttons are pretty important to me, so anything without the feature would be a no-go.

There's also no more store page for it on the Steelseries site. Info page yes, store page no.

That's a big shame, I guess they put all their chips on the Sensei (fuck knows why the fuck they'd do that) so ZOWIE it is.
