You can scratch that, as it is not how I actually feel. I always see people bash on Apple products, so I figured I'd throw in a line just for the fun of it. I have an iPhone which has worked without a problem for the 2,5 years I've had it now. Never had to send it in for repairs, and the only time it's off is when the battery dies out (which is almost the same as when an S3 runs out of battery life). For work I have a Macbook Pro, which works great for development purposes. Similar to my iPhone I have not yet had any problems with it, but I've only had it for a year now. So, so far I've had two Apple products which both have not yet died on me, and do exactly what they are supposed to do.
I suppose most of you bash because you are fanboys and are extremely biased, or have only seen an Apple product and never owned one. Now of course the 'Why would I pay 2000 dollars for a laptop while I can buy one for 1200 dollars with the same specs?' will come up in a possible reply, which is true. The Apple products are pricey, but when work offers one you'd gladly take it, most likely over a regular laptop with the same specs. Why? Because simply put it's better than a regular laptop. Every detail they thought of. From the intuitive OS, the solid casing, the HD screen, to the magnetic power cord. It's a comfortable machine on the outside and the inside. Aside from the price there isn't really anything to bitch about. Can't play games or use certain software? Well find an alternative, or use bootcamp and use a Windows OS. Mind you that I don't really consider this to be Apples fault, because the libraries used are bound to Windows. Blame developers for their inability to reach multiple platforms. The price is only a factor because you can't afford it. Which isn't something bad (to be honest it was a bit too pricey for me as well, but work got me one), but it's not something you should bash others for who can afford it.
In reality you know that you can't replicate a Macbook Pro, so next time you bash someone with "OMG you're so stupid I could've build you the same machine for hundreds of dollars less" you need to shut the fuck up, because you really can't. |

Clearly never worked with one for a prolonged period of time, nor did you read everything I wrote. Also, I'd like to see you build a machine able to develop for every possible OS, desktop/laptop or mobile. That's right, you can't. |
It's an everday laptop with better plastic, that's it, literally.
If anything it costs apple 10 bucks more than normal to produce their laptop cases. |

Exactly this. I bought iconoclasm and enjoyed my 5x5 springboard, then there was an update available on cydia. No warning about this, but it just updated and now it crashes when I try to enable it.

Hackintosh? Have fun using an OS that crashes every time the wind blows. I was also wondering if anyone could find me a laptop with the same hardware specifications as a Mac, including things like the screen quality, lit keyboard, etc. I am wondering what the actual price is, because other laptops all lack one or two of the hardware features offered, which of course makes them cheaper.

In my current situation I have a PC at home which I do all my private things on, and have a Macbook Pro solely for work (which is development). Admittedly I don't think it'd make much sense for me to use it for personal activities, but for work it's simply better to use. I can use it to develop for every possible platform, and the machine + casing have been dependable thus far. I've had ACER, ASUS, and HP laptops before this, and they didn't do as well in their first year.
Perhaps the bashing comes from not having had to use machines like these in a professional environment. |

shit mate the only thing apple has over andriod is the fact that devs know exactly what the hardware specs for the phone they are dev'ing for. devs can optimize apps for ios because they know exactly how fast the device can go, the screen size, etc... with andriod you have an open market and devs have no idea what your hardware is going to be so optimization is brought to a minimal.
but everything apple is so overpriced it is hilarious. i realize if you want to buy a new ipad every time a "new" one comes out because you have money to waste then it's your business, but when you praise apple like they are divine like is just ignorant.

99% of cef plays video games. Macs aren't compatible with alot of games and boot camp has some driver problems. I dislike apple for creating an overprice product that can't game. Not everyone has 2k to blow on a "macpro". its still over priced. Also its apple's fault, you can't run the mac os on a pc.
