it works, but it doesn't seem to be such a good idea.

the 6950 doesn't take too kindly to the extra required voltage / timings that the new bios sets. it's a good way to damage your card.

you can also enable the missing shaders for whatever reason, amd decided not to laser them to death apparently.

They fixed the 6950s and laser cut the other shader modules now. The card I have can be unlocked to a 6970 but it's somewhat pointless. It's only a minor increase in performance and you have to sit through 2-3 BSODs until the PCI-E gets the voltage it wants to run the card.
