| If you want Offline = Go PS3. Even tho you only want to play offline, the PSN will deliver free goodies. With x360 you have to pay a monthly fee to even access to some of their stuffs. (i own both, i know what i'm talking about)

Xbox [360] is probably the best, has nice controlls layout and fits your hands perfectly, HALO!!!!, good graphics, and theres more xbox games which are cheap unlike PS3. Xbox = good for online gaming, PS3 = good for offline. Most of these are my opinions and I chose to go for Xbox. But the choice is yours.

I've seen two posts say the PS3 is good for offline gaming.
How can you say that when it is FREE to play online with a PS3? If anything, I'd say the 360 is made more for offline gaming than the PS3, and both are probably good for online gaming, aside from the shitty communities they probably have.
(I own neither, so no, this opinion is not biased)

The thing is, i find ps3 having more interesting games with an awesome single player story. Usually the PSN have good content for free, more likely the DLC.
You can now also go with PSN +, which cost the same amount as a GOLD subscription in x360. But with PSN+ you get games with 50% discount, and sometimes free games. The list of free stuffs changes every week. There will always be a game or two for free once a week.
I haven't subscribed for a long time on my x360 i haven't found any interesting games to play online with. Therefore in my opinion not worth it. I rather play games online with my PS3 since it's free.

Free =/= good.
PSN servers are slow in comparison to XBL, and it lacks many of the features that XBL has, such as cross game chat, unless you upgrade to PSN Plus, which you will have to pay for anyways.
