I think it's such a useless (unless it's for medical needs, as stated in OP) and even more hurtful towards society. In this day, the vast majority of individuals are very self-conscious and reliant on their physical attributes. Somebody who is fat, and is not satisfied with their figure, will go to extreme measures like anorexia, bulimia, etc. you get the point.

In my opinion, I find it shameful for people to care so much about their good looks. Good looking individuals, even get a slight advantage (in the adult world) in getting money in this economy.

When somebody states "She's the hottest/cutest girl alive", I have seen many poor families with a daughter that would have great potential in becoming a more physically attractive person.

If you have a 'normal' (define: normal?) body & you're just not satisfied about it, see a fucking shrink or something. Altering your body in any way without good reason (deformation, blown-up-face etc) is just so pathetic.
