or perhaps people only chose to buy one or two games every now and then and don't spend years of their lives with a 360 control in their hands.

I've had my 360 for a couple of years now. To avoid getting the RRoD, i just turn off my 360 after an hour or two of playing(unless it's FFXIII which i allowed my 360 to stay on for nearly half a day every time i played ;_Wink

I always just leave my 360 on.

Also, Elpacco, prove to me that the xbox 360 is made with bad parts, and i will sell my 360 in August and start PC gaming.

Prove? What do you mean prove?

Well, for one thing, RRoD has become a household term among our generation, that should be proof enough. Besides that, I can't come over to your house, bring a 360, open it up, and show you that it was made poorly. Not only for the obvious reasons of not being able to come over to your house and show you a 360, but also because you can't really just see what you would need to see in order to know.

Additionally, if it is just due to people not knowing how to use their system, why don't PS3 owners have this problem? Or are you implying that people who own a PS3 are generally more intelligent than people who own a 360? Plus,

I don't know what you think that someone else is doing that is so much worse for the system that it causes it to normally overheat. If you had any normal level of intelligence, you would be able to tell that you have one of the lucky 360s that don't overheat easily. They're not all made exactly the same.

It's not like Microsoft was made with bad parts.

It's just that their chipset was fucking HUGE and there was not enough heatsinks and insufficient airflow. Plus, a lot of gamers just keep their Xbox locked up under their TV, and it can't cool properly.

With Xenon-Falcon chipsets, the Xbox had a 50% failure but gradually got lower with each iteration, and with the Jasper chip, it's back within normal console failure ranges, 5-10%. 8% of Wiis fail, and 10% of PS3s fail, so it's safe to say that all consoles are on even footing now.

The only reason why everybody keeps bashing on the Xbox 360 is because they made such a bad name for themselves at the start.

Thought it was the soldering wire, not having lead in it or something?
So when it heats up, the solder melts and things start to shift.

That's another thing.
@Alex: You're acting as if Xboxes only break with RRoD. They break with a fucking bajillion different reasons.

It melts because it gets hot crazy fast. It doesn't get hot that fast anymore.

And yeah, there's other problems with the Xbox, like the fucked up disc drive, but they've changed it lots of times already and I honestly haven't had a problem with mine yet. As long as you don't move your damn Xbox while you're playing (why would you do that anyways), you're fine. And lay it down flat when you're playing like a PS3, instead of standing it up.

I move my PS3 all the time, since it's usually sat next to my tower for my PC, which is under my desk, and I like foot room sometimes. No console should be that delicate.

And I keep mine standing up, no trouble there.

I've had my 360 for a year. I really dont get new games that much, mainly renting and borrowing. But i like to play the hell out of them while I can. Like I did with oblivion. Got all achievements except becoming the gray fox. The damn messenger never came. Oh, I i have never had the RRoD. I can play for how ever long i want. It might freeze like once per every 108 hours played. But never RRoD.

They mainly fixed the RRoD with NXE Consoles. If it happens to you, your either very unlucky or need to stop putting pizza in your disk tray...Long story.
