I love how you people always say this, when I can't connect to the internet.. How am I supposed to check them if I can't connect?

Get creative.

Also try connecting to your router from your computer. Figure out WHERE the problem is, just "can't connect to the internet" isn't helping. Be moar accurate. (E.G. "my computer is connected to my router, my router is properly connected to the internet, but my computer has no connection." would be a lot more helpful.)
