Because when the times change, so do the people in them - thus music/movies/everything must also change so that people will still want it, kids these days have no knowledge of how good crap was before - nor do they care as long as they get their money from their mommy & daddy and get to headbang to Hannah Montana.

Music back then had more thought put into it, every sound, lyric, beat, instramental was thought out, and put togetherr like a recipe.
The reason why this stopped pretty much was because the technological age. Maybe we stop focusing on looks, and focus on the quality of the music.

Music evolves, as does the youth. When the youth change, the music changes to what ever will be/is most appealing to them.

Just whine less and listen to either old songs or find some good artist that you like and stick with him.
