| Its over, i got so POed i reformatted the hdd completely instead of just a new install. If that doesnt stop all issues i have ever had nothing will.

You'll find that a reformat is nice. You get rid of all the junk you had.

Yea but I lost my game save for NFS Most wanted. I was on blacklist member 8.
I was so far and my viper had stage 5 heat.

| You know, you could simply boot from a LiveCD, replace hal.dll and backup your files... Guess it's too late for that.

You could have saved stuff. Just put the HDD onto another computer as a slave drive, then you can just pull stuff off.
Too late for that though.

| Ive been runneing on w7 since end of 2008, never had any probs... You got windows xp on your computer to, right? plug in an external harddrive (well you dont have to, buts its cooler, lol) save the xp files, open up the w7 files from your xp, and eather o a vs on them, put in a new hal file, or just download the iso file from like pb, get deamon-tools, and boot the w7 up from there, restor your virus.scaned files, and you´r all done... Hard.

I couldnt. No way to move it off the laptop. I couldnt get into windows. It was a case of raped bootloader. Oh well shit happens. All my windows 7 problems are gone it seems. All my bsod issues were from utorrent causing my wireless card to react in a way that pissed off the wireless pissing off the kernel. I stopped using utorrent and now I dont bsod.

and no, i did a format and then installed windows. I went squeeky clean. My music is now going to be saved to a partition so that way it cant be lost if i ever have a problem again, or upgrade to the finished version of windows.
