Best I could find at 1000$.
If you are willing to settle for a smaller one, perhaps 15"6 I can find you a better one. Even though this one should handle pretty much most of your games as long as you're not playing on the highest settings.

Also, you may want to consider just getting a netbook for school and building a desktop for home.

This. For $1k, you could get a $300 netbook and a $700 desktop. It's amazing what you can get for $700 in a desktop these days.

nothing wrong with that, plus it is A LOT easier to fix your self if something goes wrong or you want to upgrade something.

Well assuming you decide to go the netbook/desktop route;

Your netbook:

Should do the job for school tasks.

Your desktop, you can put it together by yourself, it isn't that hard;

Decent Case

Assuming you don't have a monitor since you're a on a notebook,

2ms, good for gaming. Also not too big so that you need to play on a high resolution.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103472
Decent Quad-Core.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104098
Higher end RAM. Also good for overclocking if you decide to overclock later on.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131140
Should be able to handle most of your games, 512MB since you're not playing on a high res.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131368
Decent motherboard with AM3 support, so you can upgrade to the faster phenoms if you want later on.

Single rail @ 35a, should power your PC fine.

Basic HDD

You're welcome Smile

EDIT:
Oh and if you do plan to overclock, you might want to spend the extra 30$ and get the 940 as it has a unlocked multiplier.

Wait, I have to stop you there. 2ms Gray to Gray is not the same as 2ms Black to Black. 5ms BTB is faster than 2ms GTS (approx 8ms BTB). Measuring speed in GTG is a marketing ploy.

Everything else looks pretty decent... but why the lack of a DVD burner?

The computer industry changes remarkably fast. What may be a good deal now might be crap in two weeks. It's usually a better idea to wait until you have the funds before you go deciding on the parts for a build.

ram. It still values at 600$ =p. But I do have a big trouble updating to x64.

My Windows Vista Home Premium x32 was pre-installed with the laptop but

how am I able to update/upgrade/install x64

Back up data, reformat, install x64 version of Vista. I doubt there's any way to upgrade or anything.

Be sure there are drivers for your current system and that your CPU is 64-bit capable.
