Heh.
I tutored there. volunteer work did some of my hours. Also tutored at lerna.
From working there I can tell you all that all the kids that go there are downers.
It is impossible to get a single thing through there thick skulls. They don't listen when we talk, they don't do the work we assign, really is pointless.

I know some people who take Kumon.
They get atleast an 80% average.

My younger brother did it and I definitely noticed an increase in his mathematic capabilities (I often help him with his homework) so, yes, it does help.

Honestly, looking at the prospectus in the UK Kumon programs, it seems like things I learned at school when I was a lot younger, things that I grasped easily anyway. I don't see why this kind of thing is necessary, except for slow kids, perhaps.
I didn't know such a thing existed before I saw this thread, though. I just looked up the places in which this thing occurs, and it's huge. There's like 30 centres in my County alone, 575 total in UK.
