If you're willing to put alittle money in, Guildwars is a great option.
You only need to but the game itself, and there are no monthly subscription fees.

I don't hack in Diablo II because of the fact that it's a good game. That basically goes for any game I take the time to play, now. Why hack a game simply because you don't think it's good enough to play? If I were to hack a game, it would be to extend a certain aspect of the game, not make some stupid godmode or anything like that.
You might also explore game mods, which can be very fun, depending. What games do you already own?

Definately play Ether Saga Online. One of the best games out in my opinion.

It works for my computer with 1GB RAM with crappy vista.
