IM's are for people who aren't that confident the first time to be talking to the person, and that 90% of the couples nowadays meet through the internet and got together there. So yea, if you are confident and know what you want to say and can back it up if it goes wrong then go face to face. If not, build up your confident through the net, and become stronger friends there.

90%? You gotta be kidding me, only people get raped if they meet on the internet (craigslist/Myspace).
The best place to meet a girl is at a party (bring about 4 ~ 5 friends with you) and have a good punchline (not like ''You wanna bang around in my loveshack - But more like ''Hey, you look familiar, whats your name maybe it can fresh up my memory'')

Same thing happened to me.

Yea I was watching the news a few months ago and popped up, couples nowadays meet and get to know each other over the net more often then people bumping to each other.

You should just be yourself and start a conversation, and stay relaxed. Remember, she isn't some all-powerful god that's above you, she's just like you. She might even like you, and that might be why she hasn't responded. She might be afraid.

Ignore her if she says hi,
If she blocks your way to say hi, ignore her and take another way to get to your destination.
If she tells you a joke, don't laugh, and give it a bad review.
If she runs towards you, screaming you to catch her, step away and let her jump in the air.
Even if she asks you out, say no the first and second time. But say yes the third time (if you want to date her, that is).
This might seem awkward but it'll totally get you laid if you stay with her for longer than a week.

either that or she gets so many msg's that yours are bumped down and she only sees the top ones when she sees "New comments."
