Well i wanna use the computer for atleast 2-3 years.. so i prefer quad over dual any day

Then I recommend quad.
But then I also recommend you to spend like 800$ instead.
And might take a Q9550 instead of the old Q6600.

But if your going to overclock much take the Q6600,
I would also recommend 4870, because 4850 wont hold so long to play newer games later on.

Tho 4870 wont either but a bit longer atleast.

8800GT is expensive, get a 4850.
If your going to have the computer for 2 years you will need to buy a new GPU in around 1 year.

Get an Q6600, an get a good CPU cooler and overclock it.

Hmm seems good, and if added a 8800gt in there? +100$?

Please say what your going to do with the computer.
If your going to play alot games I would totaly recommend a dualcore.

A quad core will do perfectly fine for gaming and other stuff

Imma go to bed
Ill recheck this topic in about 20 hours (when i get back from school >_>)

80% of the people that buy quads buy it just cuz it is quad, they don't even
use all 4 cores, just 2 of them.

Thats why you should buy a faster and cheaper DUALCORE.
Like E8400/E8500/E8600.

IF you start rendering/using vmware to emulate more desktops quadcore would be handy.

Some games can use quad tho the dualcore at that price would be better once again.

The E8400, arent they as expensive as the q6600?

Yes almost, but the E8400 is alot faster.

You could for example watch this test:
http://www.matbe.com/articles/lire/1121/comparatif-de-100-processeurs/page24.php

Theres 100 different CPUS there, and E8600 gets almost best.
But the other CPU is at around 1200$.

You gain alot with a faster dualcore then a lower quad.

And also you can overclock E8400 to around 4.0-4.5gHz stable (depends on motherboard).
