Still no dualcore "PWNS" quadcores at games, think of it like this.
The game are programmed for only 1 or 2 cores and have very little possiabilitys to run 3-4 cores. So if you got a 3gHz quad and a 3gHz dualcore they will probebly run almost the same at games.

I've built over 40 computers (I build and sell and test) and I always test them before selling.

I'd say if you like only play games on your comp buy a dualcore.

Yeah ok.

You honestly wish any modern title will not exploit multi-threading.

If you looked at the FarCry 2 benchmarks, you'd see the Quad was ahead in performance despite being 600mhz lower in speed.

Quad core scaling in Source engine titles.

Unreal Engine, obviously showing benefit.

If it's CPU bound, and not threaded badly, it's going to excel.

a dual core would be able to handle that, even my average laptop can do that (single core). and i doubt you'd be photoshopping while you're engaged in a game.

You could spend $32 on some extra RAM if the motherboard can fit it (I'm no hardware freak).

Jesus christ, $800 on hard drives. -_-;
I suggest only getting maybe 2 x 1000GB HDD and saving a little bit of cash for yourself..
