I probably would be. I use a 21.6 widescreen and I love it. Games are great. Watching movies or porn is nice. When I get my next computer I am so getting a 24.

And yes 24" is worth it Smile

Laptop 1: 17"
Laptop 2: 13.3"

To watch true HD content (HD-DVD or Blu Ray) you need a monitor 24" or above as the 22" does not meet the correct resolution.
HD content resolution is 1920x1080
22" max. res. is 1680x1050

? where did you get that? dell sells (or used to sell) 17-inch 1920x1080 monitors to businesses (and/or the public).


Dell sometimes would make monitors that's got a better resolution than others so I wouldn't be surprised for them to make a 17" with that high of a resolution. But comparing to 17" and 24" screen real estate the 24" would still be a better choice as you get a better viewing experience.
Also those "special" screen cost 2-3 times as much as their regular counterparts so the price of a 17" at 1920x1080 would probably cost the same as a 24".

BTW: Dell used to sell 80GB Western Digital Raptors. So yeah Dell is
quite special...

i got 29.x (something) =) and a 60 inch 1080p plasma tv that i use as a monitor sometimes when watching blu-ray
