While his board may support Core 2 chips, more likely than not it won't since it sounds like an older OEM board.

Unfortunately, that PSU is too weak to handle anything bigger as far as a video card is concerned. I would reccomend at a minimum getting a new PSU, graphics card, and some more RAM.

Though ideally I would just build a new budget machine entirely, you can build a very nice machine for $500. Let us know how much you wanna spend and what you wanna do with the machine.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking too. It's unlikely that the motherboard will have dual core support, and I doubt it'll support over 800MHz FSBs.

Actually, I think it'll still be okay with a mid-end graphics card (ATI X1650 for example). Even with the CPU power inefficiencies, you should still be find with a mid-end card.

With $500, you can easily just build your own computer, or get the parts and ask someone else to.

I really just want a very fast PC, that will work very smoothly. I'd have to say that my budget would be around perhaps 250-350$?

hey so you want to upgrade your comp or make a new one entirely with all new parts? cause you have both those options for 250-350$ u can upgrade your comp pretty well.... you could also make a budget rig which would probably out preform your current compute by a lot. Anyways a important thing to remember is not just think about RAM always a good computer is based on all parts together because if you have 4 gb of ram that wouldn't necessarily mean you will out preform 2 gb your cpu and other components also play a big factor. Also disregard what the other dude said $500 for 2gb memory? what the hell first of all i would highly doubt his mother board could support $500 dollar ram... if your just going for a ram upgrade and a gpu upgrade id say it would cost you from 90-$200 dollars tops.... cause your if your ram is gddr 184 pin your rams gonna cost you a little more but if its like gddr2 240-pin you save more than $20. An easy way to figure out the ram module you need and how many extra ram module slots your computer has Google "crucial memory scanner" and pretty much after the scan its pretty self explanatory. Anyways your gpu or graphics card you have a pci-e x16 slot which is good because you can use pci-e x16 2.0 slot cards on it because a couple of cards has backwards compatibility and wouldn't lower the performance by a large margin. Anyways a good website you can use if you live in the U.S is newegg its pretty cheap there if you need any further help you can just ask here i can send you a list of parts that can be useful to you. Also please use the crucial scanner that i had referred to earlier and post what type of memory you have and how many slots you have open. Okay hope I helped if you have any confusion about something i said just mention it ill try to clarify my self.

By the way are you Bangladeshi by any chance... the name of the owner of your comp "ritwan mohamed" sounds bangladeshi imo. Just wanted to know.
