Outside of having the worlds worst graphic card, having Aero enabled is usually a good idea, since all the window management is done on the GPU instead of the CPU.

As far as i know, onboard graphics use the CPU to calculate images......

So if cops come banging on your door (most likely not though) you can say, "I got a legal version *shoves CD in their face*! Now GTFO!". Wink

Seeing as their EULA doesn't even allow them to collect personally identifiable information for licensing purposes, I don't see that being a problem

Not if you get a decent key, like from a university etc. It will work just the same as a legit copy.

Linux is not an operating system so it cannot be the fastest OS.

Linux is a kernel.

Also, IMO, Ubuntu is big and slow... There are much faster Linux-based operating systems.

Um...Ubuntu's always been quite fast for me and I don't have "the best computer" so to speak. It's pretty average. And yeah they're are probably smaller and faster distros of Linux, but I personally thin Ubuntu's the best. Plus compiz makes my life so much easier Smile

Oh by the way, Linux is an operating system. But it is also a kernel.

Quote:

Linux (commonly pronounced IPA: /ˈlɪnəks/ in English; variants exist[1]) is the name usually given to any Unix-like computer operating system that uses the Linux kernel.
