Did you switch to Windows Live Messenger Plus? If so, go to add remove programs, delete some CiD shit, as well as the MSN additions. It causes pop-ups. It pissed me off, and that stupid CiD shit that came with it fucked up my hosts file, and possibly edited my user32.dll.
