in general Vista is very underratted

Most anything software made FOR Vista runs like butter

1gb is fine on Vista, I ran it on 512mb before and it wasn't bad.

BUT...

Don't bother, you will see no real advantage at all with that hardware. Just stick with XP until you somehow manage to acquire DX10 hardware.
