| why not get xp now i got the vista anyways i can easily install it back when sp1 is out right? wats a SATA DRIVER?

The SATA controller is the part on your motherboard that interfaces your hard drive to the rest of the system. The driver is a bit of software that tells the computer basically what model the controller is and how to run it.
Do you have an OEM machine (Dell, HP, etc) or a homebuilt? If it's an OEM, list the model number and I'll find you your SATA driver (if it needs one)

I looked on Dell's site, they don't offer a SATA driver for that model. I'd guess you wouldn't need the SATA floppy driver since you're not running in RAID mode, so you should be good. If you're going to do it, make sure you have access to another PC in case you need a driver, but I don't think you do.
