Right off the bat, I can tell that your set up really isnt going to work. Seeing that you want to use a 400W PSU with a 512mb 8800GT

I am a gamer.
But consider my build. You get a lot more for less.

i like the mobo and CPU, good PSU for medium end gaming... actually high end since its 600watt (that might be a litle over doing it, but meh its his bill). I would sugest buying the Hard Drive from newegg for 100 dollars instead of this place. Seems nice. Ill check to see if anything else on new egg is cheaper (like the RAM and HD)

Wow I didn't even see this O.o
The sound card sucks. I'll go with a cheaper one... Idc about sound all that much other than for my music.
I want it all from Tiger Direct since I can pay in payments instead of all at once.

Go ahead. Just buy an OS and it should add up to about $1250~$1350 +S/H

What's up with the first gen 8800GTS? Anyway, looking for overclocking?

Lol I put it there because its a great 8800GTS without spending that much money, compared to the 1GB GTX counterparts.

I need you to find a new soundcard because I wouldn't know if it's all compatiable.
edit: What does overclocking mean? D:

The 8800GT is better and cheaper than the 8800GTS, but the difference isnt that big
Im running on a fresh self-picked and self-build
amd athlon 5200+ 2.6ghz (didn't overclock it yet :/
XFX geforce 8800GTS 640mb
Asus m2n-sli deluxe (nforce 570 chipset)
2x1gb kingston 800mhz ram + 2x512mb kingston 800mhz ram (total of 3gb ram, could have gotten more but it would been too much for any 32bit OS)
320gb Maxtor 7200rpm 16mb buffer
Thermaltake Soprano DX black + window (really a beauty, costs something but gives ya something)
and that cant even run crysis on very high, well it can but the keyboard starts reacting slow.
then again, crysis is crazy shit and crysis 2 is gonne be even more beautiful, like the owner of crytek thought not enough pc's couldnt handle his game yet...

Some of them purchase low-end computer components which they then overclock to higher speeds, or overclock high-end components to attain levels of performance beyond their factory defaults. Others overclock outdated components to keep pace with new system requirements, rather than purchasing new hardware products as expected by the computer industry. |

Well the second gen 8800GTS 512MB is about the same price and performers better, might want to reconsider. Last time I checked, there were no plans on releasing a 1GB 8800GTX, only the GT and GTS version will be available with 1GB of video memory.

You increase the Core Clock, Shader Clock and the Memory Clock, to make the video card perform a bit better. This is what most of the people do when they overclock, but others may Flash the card BIOS to increase voltage or voltmod it, but that's more advanced.

Not true, the second gen 8800GTS performs better then the second gen 8800GT.

Yeah, about that. I meant GTS, not GTX. Kinda mistyped, but I was slow off the trigger.

Yeah voltmodded is only recommended for people who know what they're doing, unless you want molten hardware.
How do I know if my 8800GTS is 2nd gen? I bought it in october...
btw, does anyone have any experience with the omega drivers with an 8800 ?
Im thinking of donwloading them for simple overclocking, but I dont know if theyre full of buggs or what.

If you have the 512mb version of the 8800gts, then it's the second generation one.
Tweaked drivers lag behind horribly, just use the latest beta ones from nvidia, then use Rivatuner.
