Try SpeedFan.
Check the temperatures, if they're higher then they should be, then your computer is overheating.

http://www.memtest.org/

use it.

this is likely the problem. if you cleaned the dust and all the fans are working, i doubt overheating is the problem.

let the test run for a few hours (the longer the better, simple as that, some stuff might not show up for DAYS. even one error means trouble)

What does it do when it restarts, also? Does it give you the BSOD, or just restart altogether?

He probably has restart on critial error, as is usually set up when you reformat, so he doesn't see the BSOD.

Sounds like overheating to me. He has to clean it.

Yeah, maybe.

But he said he cleaned it. He needs to try speedfan though, to be sure it's not overheating.

Ah I had this problem. Eventually the comp just crashed completely and had to buy a new hard drive.

-Update drivers

-Check temps with speedfan, if it's above 60c, it's too hot.

-Run Memtest to verify none of your memory is bad

-If you have access to a different PSU, you may want to try that(you can check your voltages in speedfan as well, if they're not within 5% you need a new psu)

If you can't get speedfan to work, check it the ghetto way. Take the sidepanel off of your pc, and put a box fan next to it blowing air into it. If it stops restarting, there's your issue.

69C is a bit toasty, I would recommend getting an aftermarket cooler and some new case fans.

But is that the reason why it restarts?

And what is PSU?
