and actualy there are computers with that much ram none that you can buy but yeah
and really if you couldent figure out i ment space your sorta slow considering i said ram all ready |
He's sorta slow? Buddy, you're the one who typed RAM twice. If anyone is slow, it is you. |
that doesn't make you slow, that's called a mistake. you've got to be a total nutjob to not know that he ment space or room or whatever. |
He called someone else slow for reading it how he typed it, therefore it's his fault. To me, he's slow. Besides, if you're going to say that that doesn't make him slow, then I'll say it doesn't make you a nutjob for having good reading skills.

Who are you agreeing with?

Anyone in this section should have the intellect to figure out he misspelled. If you see something twice, and considering the numbers involved, it's quite obvious the 1.6TB is an unreasonable amount for RAM and that he meant hard drive space.

how have i got bad reading skills? i'd say someone who'd be able to pick up something twice and know what they really ment would be good reading skills. look i've got nothing against you but calling someone slow for accidentally typing something twice doesn't make sense. what is he slow at? and normal people make mistakes, you're all making a big deal over one word lol.

No. There are no computers with that much ram.
If you wish to take this arguement further, show me a link to evidence. | http://www.sun.com/servers/index.jsp
# Up to 48 high performance server modules
# Supports up to 30.72Tbps I/O bandwidth
# Supports up to 6.144TB memory
# Supports up to 28TB HDD storage
# Available from $34,995
# UltraSPARC T1, T2, AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon architecture
# 42 RU server
# Supports Solaris, Linux, Windows operating systems |
Maybe it supports alot of ram, but there are NONE mainboards AND OPERATIVE SYSTEMS that supports so much ram.
8 GB is max right now. (maybe a bit higher, but they are too expensive for a "normal" person)
And Windows 32bit supports 3,5 gb, 64 bit supports 32gb? or 64gb?
So basically, you are wrong

1. The board in that system should support that much considering the spec sheet says it does
2. Such a system runs on the SPARC instruction set, not x86 like a normal computer, so mentioning 32-bit Windows doesn't make much sense here. A proper 64-bit OS has almost unlimited RAM support.

To Sm4rtOne: Yeah, possible, my friend did his 2140 to 3.6GHz~
My PC Specs:
Gigabyte™ GA-P35-DS3 Rev2.1
Core™ 2 Duo E6550
Ballistix™ PC2-8500 2GB Kit - D9GMH [B6-3] Chips
MSI NX8600GT OC Edition
Silverstone® Strider ST56F
Samsung 19" LCD 932B
After CNY, I'll get myself an XFX/BFG/EVGA 8800GTS 512mb
Might need an Asus Triton 70 too.

For the RAM issue thingy... Normal server boards can support up to 32GB RAM, don't know how many slots, just know it does. We don't use it anyway XD
BTW, http://www.sun.com/servers/index.jsp
Servers, it's not only 1 server in 1 rack -.- I think the website means the total support of total servers.
