You do realize, people who want a micro sd, and removable battery are like... the 10% market.

They're tailoring to the masses who want thinner, more beautiful phones (e.g., not you). They want to take iPhone's phone market, I can see this being very successful even though I don't support the decisions they made, because quite frankly, it's what the majority wants.

the only people who want paper-thin phones to exist are coorporations. corporations can cash in greatly by making extremely fragile phones.

"Battery won't hold a charge? Send it in the mail to Apple and for $200! We will replace your battery!"
"Shattered your iPhone 5c? You can pay $400 to fix it, or you can pay $500 for the new iPhone 6!"
"Here is your new phone! You better buy this $70 Otterbox so that way your phone will never break!...Oh, and before you leave, would you like to purchase insurance? We have plans for $30 for 6 months, or $50 for 1 year!"

My point of all that, is simply the customers are NOT wanting fragile phones, but they buy them because corporations want the consumer to buy fragile phones.

The "masses" you speak of are the uneducated buyer, not a user on a gamehacking forum. The uneducated buyer only buys phones based off of what their friends tell them, what the media tells them, and what the bestbuy salesmen tells them. The uneducated buyer might look at some specs, but they are usually the common knowledge-gimmicky specs like screen size, camera megapixels, and brand. Other than that the ordinary customer are complete sheep when it comes to choosing phones, and corporations know that. That's really the only reason why fragile phones are bought by everybody. If the common buyer were as educated as any of us, then the phone market wouldn't be focused on being slim and fragile.

I'm not sure if you were defending my argument, or what point you were making, but yeah. The mass are retarded, and buy whatever is recommended, or known. Rarely do I ever meet people who have an extra battery to make a removable battery worth it, nor do most even know what a micro sd (or if they do, have any interest in one).

XD
I agreed with you mostly, but refuted your point that the masses want thinner phones, but instead, the corporations want thinner phones because there is more money to be had there.

Honestly, I know of no one who has ever went up to me and bragged about the thinness of their phone. Infact, most people I know complain about how thin and fragile it is.

its true that the corporations are the ones that want those things. recent survey said something like 60% or more of iphone users want thicker phones with better batteries, rather than continuing to slim the device

the microsd thing isnt relevant for many people because they stream their music and movies.

That's funny, I thought iPhone was stealing from Samsung earlier. Now it's the opposite. We're seeing middle ground here.

After further research the lack of micro SD is due to the new UFS 2 memory which rapes performance wise and with the 128Gb version it's not all that bad

But I can't forgive the ugly as design especially after all the praise they got for the alpha and how beautiful it is

And the lack of removable battery is due to support for both wireless charging standards
Which tbh is another lame gimmick that less than 1% will even use

wireless charging isnt a gimmick, but it does need to improve a lot before it becomes viable

Eh, I've never had any issues with batteries not working so I don't really see the big purpose of removable batteries, especially since power banks are so cheap nowadays. Your phone is way more likely to break down before your battery will. I did once have an issue with the connection from my battery to my phone, which would make my phone reboot all the time. So a non-removable battery would prevent issues like these.
Doesn't sending in your phone for repair (after the warranty has expired) when the battery breaks down cost about as much as buying a new battery in the store?

Edit: Removable batteries also come in handy when your phone bugs out and you have to take out the battery to reboot it, but it's not supposed to do that in the first place.

Also sucks that they didn't make them waterproof. All phones should be waterproof by now. I hate not being able to walk through the rain or standing at a concert in the rain without having to put my phone in a condom and then having it smell like rubber for days.

removable batteries to me are a god send especially while travelling.

While I was in Argentina, charging my phone was not easy, I would be in different houses every night (big family), and would be unable to carry my charger with me everywhere. So, there were many nights where charging my phone simply was not possible (or I would go to a night club after doing shit all day). So, I would always have a battery charging on an external charger at someone's house, while using the battery on my Note 4. Once my battery ran dried, I would simply go and switch the battery and be done with it.

There is literally no downside to a removable battery
1. Hot-swapping is the most convenient thing in existence
(switching of a dead battery with a fresh one)
2. Cell phone batteries often have a fraction of life the device itself has.
My S3 is still in use, yet 2 prior batteries are not (one OEM, one not)
(one of my GalaxyS3 batteries died, and the other replacement stop holding as much of a charge as when I got it (died after 2 hours), I've had 5 batteries in total; which only cost me $60 in total + 3 wall chargers.(I could have paid way less for all 5 ie:$30)
Another thing people don't realise is you can get larger capacity batteries this way as well ie my original battery was Li-Ion 2100 mAh and the current replacement in it is a 3900mAh that is a massive difference and I essentially upgraded my phone for $20.

3. Defreezing a device by battery removal.

4. Hot-swapping again because when traveling you don't have to worry about your device needing an adapter for outlets ect
also imagine this scenario not that it happens often
you are charging your battery with a foreign adapter and it has wrong voltages ect and causes your battery to explode or at least to malfunction
would you rather it fuck up the wall charger or your entire device...

ik some of you already said some of the above but i was more of stating why

also power banks are useless shit compared to RB
you are carrying another object that's not needed and usually larger than the original device itself, you might as well just plug into a wall because you have to keep the device pluged into the bank while its charging,
also you have to charge the bank itself

in other words unless you must have a phone that does not have a RB
and you are going in the woods for a few days
power banks are literally 100% useless

and at ad where you said the contacts and battery malfunctioned thats just poor design and or a bad apple and probabbly most likely covered under warranty

Power banks are great! I have a 20.000 mAh one, got it a while ago for ~18 dollars (though nowadays they're even cheaper). Yeah, it's quite large but it also holds much more juice and it fits in any of my pockets just fine. My charging cable is long enough to go from my pocket to my ear so the fact that it has to be plugged in to charge changes nothing.
My phone's battery lasts about three days, and my power bank can fully charge it at least five times before it's empty (maybe even a lot more) . It can also charge any phone and other appliances like speakers etc, and charge multiple devices at the same time since it has multiple USB ports. At 5-day music festivals my whole group uses it to keep their phones and speakers charged and it almost never runs out of juice.
Removable batteries have to be charged themselves too...
I'd rather walk around with one big battery that can charge multiple devices multiple times, than with a bunch of smaller batteries that only work for one device, don't have any indication of how full they are, and don't have any other purpose.

What the hell do you do to your batteries for them to break down that fast?
The only phone I've ever had of which the battery stopped working before the phone itself did, was my Nokia 3310.
