Alright, even though I am a fan of Linux, I want to be able to game properly. So I decided to install XP on another partition. I split my partition into a 180gig Linux partition and a 110 gig FAT32 partition. I activated both. I went to go and boot up the Windows XP install CD, but nothing happened. It just went and said "Verifying DMI Pool Data" And "Booting from CD", but after that, it just booted up like normal Linux. I already went to the Ubuntu support forums, but found no luck.

Much help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Of course. It comes with Linux. My problem is getting Windows XP installed. It's not booting off of the disk when I tell it to. Instead, it ignores the disk completely and boots off of my Ubuntu partition. My other partition, which is formatted for XP, doesn't have XP on it yet, so it can't boot off of that either.

oh that's your problem lol, i thought you were having problems booting into XP. so it doesn't read off the disc at all? if that's the problem then when your computer starts up, go into the BIOS by pressing either esc, f2, del (what ever button for your computer). once in their go under boot, or wherever you can find "primary boot device" (or similar). you must change this to the cd/dvd drive where you're putting in your XP CD. reboot and it should work. =D

if it works please click link in my siggy. =D

What do you think I did? I went into the area of BIOS where it asks you what device to boot off of. I clicked CD Drive and I clicked the CD, nothing happened.

just make sure that in the boot device settings that your primary, your first boot device, is your CD drive. once that's selected make sure you save settings and exit. now make sure your CD is in the drive and let it boot up. it may say "hit any key to boot off CD..."

it should fix your problem, and make sure you stay there incase it tells you to hit enter to boot off of CD.

Okay. I did that. When I booted up my PC, it automatically said "Booting off of CDROM", but then it went to the Ubuntu splash screen STILL! This is annoying >_<
