1. Make sure you have access to an OS (on a CD usually) the works for your system
2. Get the drivers you think you'll need on a CD or flash drive (you really only need the ones for getting on the internet because you can find most other updates through Windows Update or Google)
3. Reinstall
4. Usually, most of your old documents and storage on your computer before installation will still exist somewhere on your hard drive. Although programs won't be installed and drivers won't function, the files that aren't in your WINDOWS (I don't have experience with other OS's) folder.

Good Luck.

If it's a virus, you'd want to reformat. Might try putting them on a network and scanning it's HD from a working computer, if possible.

do any of you here know how to read? he said his computer won't load...

you're best bet is to boot off a windows disc and format your compter or a recovery disc that might have come with it. hopefully you have a drivers disc too.

yes I can read,
he said his moms pc crashed and won't load..boot

he also said as some of you may know, my laptop got a virus

so that why I said use the online virus scan to get rid of the virus on his laptop not his moms pc,

his moms pc not booting is another story which goes into lots of problems about recovering personal data ect that has been covered in this new baby computer talk forum before.

Go into safemode and delete the virus.
If that doesn't work, download Avira AntiVir PE Classic and run a scan.
