i got into my bios, i used my video cards dvi with a vga adapter and i could see the stuff before loading windows...

and now I need to know, should my 8500GT be set to 100MHz Core Clock?

i went on the Nvidia site and looked at their statistics, and they have 450MHz on the 8500GT... so should i change that? also, the other stuff for it is set to AUTO so i think i wouldnt need to mess with those.

its the Winfast Smart BIOS btw.

Are you sure that it's not the PCI-E slot that is at 100MHz? Anyway, get back to windows, and download RivaTuner. It should give you the real information.

If it's really on 100MHz, up it till the default frequency, but also make sure that the Shader and Memory clocks are on default as well, and not lower then they are supposed to be.

Leave the PCI-E clock alone, it's fine where it is.

Look at the core, memory and shader clocks.

Try to completely remove your current drivers, and install a fresh copy.
